Many hands make light work!

Virginia Home for Boys and Girls employs professional and skilled staff but also relies on the generosity of volunteers. We would love to host your organization’s volunteer group for a project that is both team-building and a necessary benefit to VHBG’s campus.  We use volunteers to help with special events, campus improvements, and anything that helps further our mission. In addition, consider joining our Auxiliary group. Members meet just a few times per year to plan and host small fundraisers that provide fun activities for the young people we serve. Making a difference.

In this video you'll see how Lowe’s employees from 14 stores in the Richmond, Virginia region made a tremendous difference in the lives of the youth we serve who now feel better about where they live. Lowe’s Heroes (volunteers) used their time and talents to remodel our group home kitchens; paint our elementary school; to improve our landscaping with flowers, trees, bushes, and stone benches; to mulch our playground; and to complete a multitude of other necessary fixes around our beautiful  30+ acre campus.

Volunteers at Work

Volunteer jobs include washing windows and power washing buildings, assembling bikes, sorting and unboxing in-kind donations in our campus store, gardening, painting trim and railings, and helping with general cleaning.
