Partners in Youth Mental Health – Comfort Cases

When a youth’s welfare is unsafe and they are removed from the only home they know, it’s scary.

Thankfully, there are many wonderful foster parents and group care organizations out there to help transition youth to a new, safe home. Many youth have nothing more than a garbage bag with them holding a few belongings. Restoring dignity and comfort during this time of crisis helps the healing process begin.

On Saturday, May 23, hundreds of volunteers from RVA Comfort CasesĀ collected, sorted, and stuffed 602 backpacks with comfort items. These backpacks will be given to youth entering the foster care system.
