One in five children in the U.S. has a mental disorder that interferes with daily functioning. When left untreated, childhood mental disorders can lead to school failure, family conflicts, substance abuse and even suicide. Virginia Home for Boys and Girls (VHBG) works to help those children facing mental disorders and their families, whether they are living at home or have been placed in VHBG’s campus-based group homes.

The Students at the John G. Wood school are hosting a walkathon to raise funds and awareness for Suicide Awareness. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we are asking you to join us. Come and show support for your community as well as Suicide Awareness. For more information on the event schedule click HERE

Genworth volunteers hosted an awesome Wii Tournament for the students at John G. Wood School on February 20! This was a fun and interactive opportunity for our students to connect with their peers and people from their community.
